The Elephants of La Cote d’Ivoire yesterday became the first team to reach the last eight of the ongoing Africa Nations Cup following a 3-1 victory over injury-ravaged Ghana. It was the first match of the tournament for Ghana, who did not play as scheduled on Monday after the departure ahead of the start of the African Nations Cup by Togo following a deadly attack on their bus in the Angolan enclave.
